Déni Oumar Pitsaev

Déni Oumar Pitsaev was born in 1986 in Chechnya. He grew up in Almaty (Kazakhstan), in Samashki, near Grozny in Chechnya, then in St. Petersburg (Russia). He arrived in Paris at the age of 17. He studied at the Sciences-Po Paris, followed by a master’s degree in directing at the INSAS, and a master’s degree in Directing at St. Lukas University in Brussels.
Déni depicts painful stories, both very personal and very serious, and – as much for modesty as for taste – he is always particularly attentive to form, seeking to construct the narrative through the set and the atmosphere. For each project, he experiments with different ideas and techniques, in search of an aesthetic language that could best express his intentions.
