Israël Palestine on Swedish TV (1958-1989)
During the years 1958 to 1989, the Swedish public broadcaster SVT’s reporting from Israel and Palestine was unique. Their reporters were constantly present in the war-affected region, documenting everything from everyday life to international crises.
The film will be followed by a discussion on archives and the representation of the Israeli-Palestinian war, led by Alice Leroy (visual studies researcher, critic at Cahiers du cinéma)

Göran Hugo Olsson
Born 1965 in Lund, he has studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm after film studies at Stockholm University. He is a Documentary filmmaker, cinematographer and inventor of the A-cam, the world smallest Super-16 film camera, and D2 the only uncompressed digital camera. He’s also editor and founder of the short documentary TV program Ikon (SVT). Prior to that on SVT:s Elbyl-series. Co-founder of Story AB. Member of the Editorial board of Ikon South Africa – a platform for the creative documentary in South Africa. for the SABC. Film Commissioner at the Swedish Film Institute 1999-02, he has travelled the world making films, commercials, information films and music videos.
