Point virgule
Point Virgule is based on images shot in super 8, and a text from Silvia Federici’s book, Beyond the periphery of the skin. The film questions the way in which capitalism transforms our bodies into a work machine.
Claire Doyon directed her first feature film Les Lionceaux in 2002, selected for the Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival. She then directed: The wind blows where it wants, Kataï, Dark avenues, Arsenic, Chrishna/Ombwiri, films selected at international festivals including Locarno, Venice, Turin, FID Marseille, Clermont-Ferrand, side court Pantin and for which she won prices. In 2012, she directed Pénélope, an initiatory journey with her autistic daughter to the borders of Mongolia. Her feature-length documentary, Pénélope Mon Amour, released in 2022, is a self-portrait based on 20 years of images. The film won the Renaud Victor and George de Beauregard prize at the FID Marseille, the Grand Prix du Jury des Escales Documentaires 2022 in La Rochelle and the grand prize at the Biofest festival in Belgrade.
Claire Doyon is founder of Maia, an experimental institution in Paris which take care of children and adolescents with autism.
