The sound of sirens
As the Olympic Games approach, the city of Paris changes its face. In a city that oscillates between struggle and resignation, Aïda comes into the world. Not far from here, a woman has confined herself to her home.
Donatienne Berthereau
After completing a Master’s degree in film studies with Nicole Brenez, she joined the directing department of la Fémis school of cinema, graduating in 2021. In 2022, she directed her first short film, Nuits Blanches, produced by Les Films du Sursaut, about a woman adrift in Paris between the two rounds of the presidential election. The film was selected by several festivals, including Premiers Plans and the Berlinale. She is currently writing her first feature-length film, which continues her questioning on the porosity between fiction and documentary.
