A sequel to Sound of the Waves made in 2011, following on from its predecessor is made up of interviews with tsunami victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake. Whereas Sound of the Waves was recorded over a wide area from Iwate to Fukushima about six months after the disaster, the conversations of Voices from the Waves were recorded about one year after the disaster, focusing on Shinchi Town, Fukushima Prefecture, and Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture.
